In February 2013, one of OneHope's partners completed market research on holistic children’s ministry in churches and para-churches in Ethiopia. The research revealed that this is a recent approach in Ethiopia and that a good number of church leaders had not yet grasped the concept while those with some level of understanding had a rather vague perception of it. However, research also showed that all local churches that participated in the research demonstrated a strong desire and aspiration to implement it. Also of note, there is an acute shortage of trained child workers or SS teachers.
