In August 2013, OneHope completed market research of the spirituality and psycho-social needs of Syrian refugee children. The research revealed membership to specific religion is determined by birth. Changing religion is akin to changing ethnicity or nationality. However, when focusing purely on Jesus and the good news about him and not about ‘Christianity’, one can get very far in reaching people from other religions. Research also revealed that they face many psycho-social needs that manifest themselves in extreme ways such as their hair falling out or turning white, bed wetting, increased aggressive behavior or being withdrawn socially.
