In October 2012, OneHope completed a research project with the European Evangelical Alliance (EEA) to evaluate the status of youth ministry throughout Europe based on four critical areas: win, build, equip and multiply. The Netherlands was selected to participate in this pilot program. Research revealed that 40% of youth ministry workers in the Netherlands are part-time, paid staff, 29% are volunteer, 15% are part-time, unpaid staff, 14% are full-time, paid staff and 2% are full-time, unpaid staff. Additionally, 72% of participants reported working for church ministries and 28% reported working for para-church ministry. Also of note, 52% of workers report having a strategy for youth evangelism compared to 48% that don’t.
