In July 2011, OneHope conducted market research of the Always Sisters, Forever Brothers Conference held in Nashville, TN. The research revealed that of the African American youth surveyed, 95% profess having made a personal commitment to Jesus Christ. Also of note, approximately 21% report an absentee father, compared with only 3% who report an absentee mother. Influence of the media, relationships with the opposite sex and negative behaviors such as viewing pornography, gambling and substance abuse were also addressed.
